Welcome to Mrs. Deweese’s First Grade Class!

I have been teaching first grade at Emma for 8 years. I am also a former Emma Cougar. I graduated from Mars Hill College in 1999. Now, I am currently enrolled at Montreat College pursuing my Master’s in Education Degree.

I live in Candler with my husband Chuck and our four year old son Carsen. We are expecting a new bundle of joy in September. I love anything John Deere, going to the beach, reading, shopping at Target, and spending time with my family.

Our classroom assistant Mrs. Tritle and I have worked together for three years. She is my right-hand man. She is a natural when it comes to teaching and working with children.

The biggest joy I get from teaching is watching the excitement in children when they are successful. I love teaching first grade. I hope to instill a love of learning in my students that they will carry with them throughout their entire educational career.
